Project Details:

CCI was proud to be part of creating this majestic venue. We were selected as general contractor for the exterior bid package (masonry, roofing, glass and glazing and precast) and the interior bid package (framing, sheet rocking, interior finishes, fireproofing, hollow metal doors and frames and hardware and specialties). When we got involved, the project was over budget and four months behind schedule, so we reviewed project documents and recommended some value engineering options. For instance, we bid out various granite contractors and bought the granite direct. This saved $500,000 in the overall budget. We also made up three months of time by implementing suggestions such as: tarping off half the arena for interior finishes while the rest of the enclosing was being completed and designing a scaffold system in the bowl area for use by all trades. This masterfully built arena has amazing size and scope of 400,000 square feet, yet exquisite attention to details. It features 100,000 square feet of Italian granite, 3.2 miles of brass accents, $1.1 million in bricks, 264 club seats, 50 luxury suites, 14 locker rooms, escalators and elevators. Its hockey seating capacity is 11,640; concert seating capacity in various configurations is 9,000–13,000+. It also has a drive-in bus area, two ice sheets, a 10,000-square-foot weight room, training room, underwater treadmill and whirlpool.
