Project Details:

Community Contractors was selected as the Construction Manager @ Risk for the Gorecki Alumni Center on the University of North Dakota Campus.  The Center is home to both the UND Alumni Foundation and UND Admissions.

The 40,575 sf complex is the first LEED Platinum alumni center in the US and the first LEED Platinum building in the state of North Dakota.  The structure has an environmentally-friendly design filled with warm cherry wood, glass walls, stone and three fireplaces.  The Center has three indoor areas for conference, meetings, banquets and ceremonies as well as a 1,500 sf outdoor terrace with a fire pit.  A ground source geothermal system is used to move heat from one area of the building to another and take advantage of the earth's mass.  The building has 3,129 sf of roof solar panels.

Our firm provided input to the team to ensure the design stayed within budget.  Our team worked diligently to make sure that the schedule was maintained for a Homecoming 2012 opening.
